The Viola da Gamba Society - New England is a chapter of the Viola da Gamba Society of America (VdGSA). It supports the aims of the VdGSA, with special attention to viola da gamba activities in New England. 2018 Silbiger Grant Performance

On Tuesday, July 10, the VdGS-NE helped present This Cross Upon My Breast, the 2018 Silbiger Grant performance.  Joshua Garvey, with a viol consort assembled by Hannah Davidson, performed works by Dowland and gave the New England premiere of John Harbison’s The Cross of Snow. VdGS-NE Spring Workshop 2018

This year’s spring workshop took place at Brandeis University on Sunday, April 29. The theme of the workshop was “Music at the Württemberg Court and beyond” with directors, Anne Legêne and Karen Burciaga, members of Long and Away Consort of Viols.
