BYRD IN HIS TIME:
Music of William Byrd

Hancock United Church of Christ
1912 Mass. Ave.
Lexington MA

Saturday, May 2, 2009

Registration deadline: April 4, 2009

Music Director: Wendy Gillespie
Coordinator: Sybil Kevy

Byrd's output alone contains music that can be approached on levels from very basic to very sophisticated, and his contemporaries offer other fascinating takes on the musical aesthetic of the late sixteenth century. Consorts on all levels will be accommodated by a fabulous faculty - play all day long coached by people who know the music intimately. In addition to Wendy herself, coaches for the workshop will be Janet Haas, Jane Hershey, Laura Jeppesen and Carol Lewis.

As usual, a beginners’ class will be offered. A brief overview of possible classes on the registration page gives you the opportunity to indicate any strong preferences.

We will endeavor to place you in compatible groups so we can all enjoy this glorious music!
