VdGS-NE one-day workshops are a great way to get together with other viol players from the New England area. Participants come for the fun of playing together, but also to expand their musical and technical knowledge on the viol – all under the expert guidance of first rate viol teachers. Under normal circumstances we offer three throughout the academic year.
A day typically consists of a lecture demonstration by the faculty followed by three consort classes. In the middle of the day there is a communal lunch. The workshops are usually in Greater Boston with most at the Slosberg Music Center of Brandeis University.
On-line sign-up is part of the official announcement for each workshop which will be posted on our home-page two months before the event.
In person workshops are currently on hiatus, but we have been offering short online sessions over zoom featuring a number of teachers from all over the country. We hope to be able to return to offering in person workshops in fall of 2021.
